More Surgery... bummer!

I'm on a bit of a downer today... I visited an Orthopedic Specialist yesterday and have been told that basically my knee is in such bad shape 13 months after my original surgery that he couldn't help me, and has told me that I have to go to see the head of Orthopedics at the Royal North shore hospital in Sydney.
He said basically he hasn't seen an injury this bad before and could go another 10 years without seeing another and that this specialist in Sydney is the only one who may be able to help.
He said I'll never have a normal knee again, but hopefully more surgery will stop the knee from popping out sideways all the time.
Anyway I've had my whine now. Hopefully tomorow will be a brighter day...

  1. You sound like you are going through such a painful time. I really hope surgery will help you. And yes, tomorrow is always a brighter day to look forward to. Keep hoping.Patricia

  2. Hey Paula,
Sorry to hear about your knee - though it could be worse - it could be your hand!

  3. Thanks Fiona, you are so right! I was a little down the other day, but the way I look at it, a lot of people don't ever get out of their wheelchairs, so I could live with another six months if I have too. At least I have a great support network!

  4. What a run of bad luck you are having with your knee. Get onto that specialist for another opinion and hopefully you can then decide what to do. Thank goodness you love sewing, imagine if you just couldn't fill your time while in a wheelchair, you'd go mad. Fiona is right it would be heaps worse if it were your hands. There is always an upside, I see that every day now that I'm back nursing. Love your scrap quilt, I know what you mean about over quoting yardage, it's a pet hate of mine too.
